Ferrata Hluboká
Secured routes for ferrata climbing above the Vltava River. The sites are located on the rocks in the area called Karvanice between Hluboká nad Vltavou and Purkarec.
How to get to the ferratas
Ferrata Hluboká, part "A" and "B" is located on the left bank of the Vltava - 9 km from Hluboká nad Vltavou or 4 km from Purkarce.
- These villages can be reached by car - then you have to travel without a car!
- On foot and by bike you can reach the ferrata on the Vltavská/Eurovelo 7 cycle path (there are signs at the ferrata site)
- By water: there is a pier at the ferrata where smaller vessels can be moored. Take advantage of our rental service.
Ferrata Hluboká, part "C" is located on the right bank of the Vltava - 8 km from Hluboká nad Vltavou or 2 km from Poněšice.
You can drive almost directly to the ferrata to the marked parking lot.
By water: there is a pier by the ferrata, where smaller vessels can be moored. Take advantage of our rental service.

To climb the ferrata, you need a special belay harness called a ferrata set and a helmet, which you can rent in the Sports and Relaxation Complex Hluboká nad Vltavou (link to the reservation system).
Recommended are sturdy shoes and protective gloves!!! (for sale at the rental shop 50kč / pair)
Where is the ferrata equipment rental
If you need to rent ferrata equipment, you can use the rental shop of the Sports and Relaxation Complex Hluboká nad Vltavou. The rental is located next to the beach volleyball courts and the baseball field.
The rental is 8.8 km from the ferrata itself!

Can I book my equipment online?
Yes, the rental company has its own booking system.
Is there a deposit for the equipment?
The deposit is 2000 CZK/ ferrata set
How much does it cost to rent the equipment?
A complete ferrata set costs 350 CZK / rental for 1-5,5h, after that the price is 450 CZK
Is it possible to rent only part of the equipment?
Any part of the ferrata set can be rented separately. The price is determined by the rental price list.
Do I need protective gloves with me?
Be sure to bring gloves or you can buy them at our rental shop.
When can I pick up and return the equipment?
pick up and return during rental hours (9:00 am to 7:00 pm in high season).
Can I go through the ferrata with an instructor?
If you are new to ferrata climbing, you can book an instructor who will walk the route with you and teach you the correct habits for safe climbing. A climbing instructor is available online

Who are the ferrata suitable for and what is their difficulty level?
Part "A"
Ferrata is suitable for active children from 6 years old. It depends on the physical condition of the visitor. There are sections of the ferrata that are more demanding on the hands. The difficulty of the route is "B".
Part "B"
Ferrata is not suitable for beginners!!! Consider your options well! The difficulty of the route is "C/D.
Part "C"
Ferrata is suitable for active children from 6 years old. The difficulty level is "B/C.
